Worcester stumble against Middlesex

Shakib Al Hasan made 34 runs as Worcestershire faltered on the first day of their penultimate County Championship Second Division match against Middlesex at Lord's yesterday.

Worcestershire were 248 for seven in 79 overs in the final session.

The left-handed Shakib smacked four boundaries in his 65-ball knock, but the innings helped Worcester get back on their feet. He shared a 78-run stand with Moin Ali, who made 66 off 88 balls with the help of ten boundaries and a six.

For Middlesex, Neil Dexter took three wickets while Toby Roland-Jones picked up two wickets.
