Hosted by Ayub Bachchu, the programme invites a new artiste every week to perform on the set. The show is broadcasted every Wednesday at 11:30pm and airs unique instrumental performances carried out by the musicians.
‘We feature some of the most prominent acoustic musicians in the country who have not been properly brought to the forefront of the public until now,’ says Bachchu. ‘The programme introduces musicians who, in spite of making great contributions to the music industry, are not popular among the audiences.’
Directed by Hasan Abidur Reza Jewel and produced by Matiur Rahman Mitu, the programme has appeared on Channel i since February 6.

‘The instruments brought forward are different than what the public are familiar to, listening alongside guitars, bass guitars and drums,’ says Majedul Islam, band manager of Warfaze who believes that it is a great medium for the young generation to see some of the other musical instruments that they may develop a passion for. ‘The programme is in fact bringing in a new dimension for the music industry, by showing the use of various musical instruments.’ The music is instrumental with no lyrics whatsoever, a characteristic that makes the show unique.
The guest musicians are supported by Gazi Abdul Hakim on flute, Sunil Chandra Das on violin, Yusuf on sitar, Milon Bhattacharya on tabla, Ekram Hossain on esraj and Fuad Nasser Babu on piano.
As the programme continues, Bachchu provides solos at intervals to blend with the whole audio experience. Although Bachchu’s guitar work is highly accomplished, for the majority of the show the spotlight is solely given to the guest musician. The instrument played by the guest musician is however, the focal point of the show with the other instruments acting as back up. The episodes featuring violinist Sunil Chandra Das and esraj player Ekram Hossain are a must watch for every music fan.
‘The programme is a showcase for those who are the backbone of the country’s music scene; it celebrates the unsung heroes of the music industry,’ says guitar instructor Mohammed Halim. Taynan Sabri Helal, a regular viewer of the show finds the programme refreshing for the local music industry while many professionals also hold the show in high regard.
A viewer can send in his or her thoughts on the programme via mobile texts and any comments sent in are posted on the next episode. The programme is filmed on Channel i’s own studio in Tejgaon and the set is designed by Mukimul Anwar Mukim.
