Yet another rocking show by Artcell
Young musicians accompanied by the renowned band Artcell enthralled a huge audience in a concert held at Sports Zone, Dhaka on February 5. The event was organized by the Wireless Forum of North South University to celebrate the forum’s 3rd centenary. Young talented homegrown bands such as Scar, U-turn, Dreek, Shunno, Auflador, Rexup avino, Rowd, Xorostrain, and Alternation performed at the concert.

Auflador was the first band to take the stage. The upcoming band with their great performance managed to set the tone for the rest of the show. They started of with ‘nemesis’ from Archenemy and continued with songs such as ‘eleventh hour’ from Log. The band is certainly a one for the future. Next up on stage was Scar. They immediately took the center stage and they managed to entertain the crowd with songs such as ‘radiohead’ from Creep. The amazing guitar work shown by the young band was highly appreciated.
After Scar, it was Alternation’s turn to capture the spotlight; they simply rocked the crowd with their power packed performance. The band performed one of their own tracks along with the track ‘rang’ form Watson brothers.

After Alternations funky performance the Rexup Avino stepped onto the stage. They performed tracks such as ‘battery’ from Metallica. The show continued with the performance by the band Rowd, they started of their performance with ‘obochetton’ from Nemesis and continued with cover songs from Yattri and ‘phiriye dao’ from Miles. The work done by the band with the flute was masterful.
When Uturn took stage, they really did manage to pull of a great show. They performed tracks such as ‘november rain’ from Gun’s Roses, ‘onnoshomoy’ from Artcell. The vocal of the band was simply awesome and they kept the crowd roaring. After Uturn the band called Xorostrain started their performance. They performed tracks such as ‘stand alone’, ‘straight out of line’ and a few other numbers. The bands performance was totally of the hook and they are certainly a band, which is going to take the underground music world by storm.
The show continued with the performance of the band Shunno. They dished out some alternative stuff with amazing style. They performed songs such as ‘kachar bhitor ochin pakhi’ by Lalon along with ‘she will be loved’. There performance was definitely a touch different from the other bands. Next up was Dreek, a band that was quiet successful in the D-Rockstars competition. They dished out tracks such as ‘highway blues’, ‘lone again’ along with their own numbers.
The crowd for the entire span of the show was eagerly waiting for Artcell’s performance. After much anticipation Artcell stepped up onto the stage and as always they set the stage on fire with their splendid performance. They played some of their most popular numbers such as bhul gonmo, onnoshomoy, and dukho bilash. They also performed a track of Kazi Nazrul Islam. The audience sang along with the band everyone in the crowd had a great time.
The concert was a well-organized one, the members of the Wireless Forum of North South University worked quiet hard throughout the entire show. The sound system for the show was absolutely flawless which is very impressive. Acme was the title sponsor of the event, while Concord, Emirates Cement, Uro Cola, Radio Forrti and Tunes Bd. Net were official partners of the event.
