The Classifieds section of the bracNet portal allows users to display advertisements for goods and services. Classified advertisements are a worldwide accepted and popular type of advertisement.  They are similar to what you see in the daily newspapers, for example, in Ittefaq Page 4. Using classified listings, you can receive responses from buyers and negotiate with them to get the best deal.  It is just like the newspaper advertisements, e.g, the advertisements for tuition, matrimonial, to-let, etc. in the daily newspapers ONLY BETTER!

Anything, as long as it's a legal and socially acceptable product.  For example, you can post an advertisement for offering or seeking private tuition, for renting out your apartment, for selling an used/re-conditioned car, for selling old books/concert tickets/ old furniture/ broken fridge/air conditioner, etc.

The bracNet side provides multiple advantages over other media classifieds:

• It is FREE! You can post as many items as you want -ALL FREE OF CHARGE.  There is no hassle of prepaid cards.
• You can post new items, update your existing posts anytime anywhere, as long as you have access to the internet. No need to physically come to our office.
• You can post pictures which will help to make your advertisement more descriptive
• You can write as much as you want to in order to describe the product -you are not restricted by word or space limits!
• You can give feedback about a seller/buyer which you cannot in a newspaper. For example, if a seller did not give you a product that performed as well as he had promised it would, you can give a negative rating to the seller as well as notify bracNet from the site.  If bracNet receives repeated GENUINE negative comments about a seller, that seller's account will be terminated.  Furthermore, other potential buyers will hesitate to buy anything from a seller who got a bad rating.
• Advertisements in general help you attract buyers and increase your revenue.

• You can search for the exact item you want as opposed to newspaper classifieds where you have to read through all advertisements to find the desired one.  So, finding your desired item is faster and easier. The site is constantly getting new listings, so at any point of time, you get many listings. Since posting an item is free, we get large number of advertisements -giving you a wide array of items across different categories to choose from.  For example, you will find listings for car, old books, jewelery etc.
  Please note that you are NOT buying an item from bracNet.  We are just providing you with the contact information of somebody who wants to sell an item.

No. Posting your advertisements in bracNet is ABSOLUTELY FREE.  You can post an unlimited number of advertisements free of cost.

To post an item:

1. Click on "New User Signup" from the classifieds homepage.
2. Click on Corporate user, if you have a company or General user, if you are an individual.
3. Fill out the form.
4. Read through the User Agreement, accept it and click on submit.
5. After clicking Submit, you will be taken to page which says "User has been created successfully".  Click on 'My Account" to log into your account
6. This is the page you will see every time you log in. This page displays all the posts you have made to date, the information that others see about you, etc.
7. If you wish to post an item, choose the category your item best fits and click on the link on the right hand side of your page.  If you are unsure where to place your item, click on 'Others'.  Remember it is important to place your item in the correct category for other users to find our posting.
8. Fill up the different fields required in the form.  You need to include a heading for your advertisement, location of your item, the price and whether you are willing to negotiate with the price, condition of the item and quantity, where applicable.
9. Include an image with your posting if possible.  Remember: Your item image should be in JPEG (.jpeg, .jpg), GIF (.gif) and .bmp format only.
10. Click submit.

Your listing stays live (online) for as long as you want.  However, we urge you to 'close' your post as soon as your items are sold.

If you want to edit a submitted post, you should log on to your account. "My Account" page displays list of your active posts. Just Click on the "Edit" button next to the post you want to edit. Make changes and submit.

Yes. You log in to your account. In the "My Accounts" page, you will see a list of your posts. Click on the 'closed' button next to the listing you want to withdraw. It will be removed from the system after 24 hours.

It is up to you how you chose to get paid. Upon discussion with your buyer, you can take cash or check payments directly from him/her. bracNet does not provide any payment services and does not act as any intermediary to help you get paid. bracNet DOES NOT ENSURE PAYMENT OF PRODUCTS SOLD.

It is up to you to decide whether you want the price of an item to be negotiable or not.  You may list an approximate price or the exact price of the item you want to sell.

Yes.  You may be able to browse the ads listed through the classifieds section without signing up, but in order to view the information of the advertiser and to make a transaction, you will need to login.  Remember, signing up is quick and free of charge.

You will need to log in to your account to view the seller's contact information.

In the same way as you post listings for something you want to sell.

• After logging in to your account, choose the category "Wanted". 
• In the Heading field, please mention the name of the product you want.  The more specific you are, the easier it will be for people to locate your listing.
• Provide a description of the product that you want. For example, if you are looking for a Motorola mobile set, you could describe the exact model such as "Motorola Handset xyz Model", the condition of the item, quantity, color and so on.
• You may also include a picture of the item you are looking for.

The users are solely responsible for the listings they provide. bracNet does not edit the listings. However, bracNet does reserve the right to delete any listings of illegal or socially unacceptable products or services.
bracNet DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY GUARANTEE FOR THE QUALITY OR AUTHENTICITY  OF THE PRODUCTS LISTED HERE.

There is absolutely no guarantee. Just the way anyone can put advertisements on newspapers, anyone can list items on bracNet which they do not have. When you contact a seller, please review the item carefully before making any payment.
If you find a seller to be dishonest, please inform bracNet immediately. Please fill out the feedback form for the seller from the bracNet site.  MAKE SURE to also fill out the feedback form to bracNet. In the bracNet feedback form, please specify clearly the sellers username, any contact info (mobile # compulsory) and any other information that will help us identify the user easily. 
We take genuine reports from bracNet members very seriously. Too many negative feedbacks may result in termination of a member's account. However, bracNet DOES NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY CONTENT POSTED BY USERS HERE NOR DOES bracNet GAURANTEE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF ANY TRANSACTION.  Like newspapers, we are unable to provide this guarantee.

To retrieve your lost password, go to the classifieds homepage and click on "Forgot Password" link on the top left corner of the page. There are 2 ways you can retrieve your password:

• If you provided us with your email address, just type in your username and an email will be automatically sent to the email address we have in your account.
• If you provided us with your mobile number:  Please SMS us (at our number) the following message "Forgot password for user account: xyz". We will SMS you your password within the next 24 hours. Please note that in case of the mobile scenario, there is the risk that somebody else (besides you) sends the SMS from your mobile and retrieves your password. So, we strongly encourage all users to provide us with their email addresses

Yes, you can.  In fact we recommend that you do. As a responsible buyer, you should provide feedback to the seller after you completed a transaction.  Please read FAQ Q23: "How can I give feedback on my buyer?" to find out the steps involved in providing feedback.

Ratings are a way to let people know of your experience with the person you sold an item to or bought an item from.  If the person was punctual, nice, friendly and honest about the condition of the item he sold to you, you should give him a good rating.
Since, these experience are subjective, we have also kept a Comment form where you can describe the experience in words.  If you had a very negative experience with a trader, we suggest that you also fill out the "File a complaint against a trader" form from the Feedback link in the Classifieds homepage.

Feedback is very important for us to provide you with a dependable marketplace. We take feedback very seriously and will terminate user accounts that receive too many negative feedbacks.

There are two areas where you can provide feedback.

1. You have to be a registered user to provide feedback.  If you are not, then please sign up first.  Then login to your account.  Then from the Advanced search option, you can do a search by your traders name to find the items he is selling.  Click on any one item to view its details.  In the details page, you will find a link next to his name in the Contact Info. Section "Rate this Seller". Fill out the form, submit. . 

If you had a very negative experience with a trader, we suggest that you also fill out the "File a complaint against a trader" form from the Feedback link in the Classifieds homepage.  We suggest that you use this form ONLY if you had an extremely negative experience working with the trader.

1. Choose the right category

Buyers go directly into the category they are interested in.  So it is very important that you enlist your item under the right category

1. If you are confused about which category your item should go into, browse around bracNet's classified section -you will get an idea of what items are being enlisted under what category.
2. If you feel strongly that your item does not fall into any of the existing categories, you should choose "Other". Make sure to describe it very well in the Title and details field so that people understand easily what it is.
3. Be as specific as possible in the Title description.

The idea is to make your title most self-explanatory and distinctive

1. For example, when you are selling a mobile handset, mention the handset brand, model# in the title as opposed to just saying "mobile handset for sale"

E.g., "Nokia 6681"

• Be honest!
1. Be honest about the product quality.  Most items sold here are second hand -so in most of the cases, you are selling it off, because something is wrong! Please mention that.  That way the buyer will give you a good rating and it will be easier for you to sell other items in future.  Remember -an unhappy buyer will definitely ensure that they come in to the site and write a comment about their unhappiness!
• Be descriptive
1. Write as much as you can in the details field. Put yourself in the shoes of the buyer and ask the questions he may ask. Examples of some generic questions:
   1. How old is the item?
   2. Why are you selling it off?
   3. Did you buy it brand new or was it second hand at that time?
2. So include brand name, Specifications, Accessories, age and condition of the item, color, model no., physical specifications (size, height, weight etc.), based on the category you have selected to list your item in.
• Use images
• Images are very powerful! As needed, put in close zoom pictures of your item
• Tip - You can search the Internet for item image using   Google, Yahoo, or MSN

This new feature in our classifieds section allows you to post an event.  Your event may be concerts, exhibitions, food festivals, fairs, etc.  To post an event, click on post an event on the top of the page.  It will take you to a form where you will need to fill in the required information for the event.  You must include an image with your posting otherwise we will not be able to post your event.

It will take us one business day (24 hours) to display your event.
